Announcement of Ikhlas Approved Repairer (IAR) Program
Dear Panel Repairers,
We are pleased to inform Takaful IKHLAS has appointed NAWAM to provide a centralized database of all collision repairers profiling for review and monitoring via an official website named as NAWAM at nawam.com.my.
All Takaful IKHLAS approved Panel Repairers are required to register as a member of NAWAM and IKHLAS Approved Repairers (IAR) Program before the closing date, 15.3.2012 (Extended to 30.4.2012).

NAWAM LAUNCHES TAKAFUL IKHLAS APPROVED REPAIRER(IAR) PANEL REVIEW FOR YEAR 2012 VIA NATIONAL AUTOMOTIVE WORKSHOP ADMINISTRATION MALAYSIA (NAWAM) WEB PORTAL
NAWAM has introduced a new initiative to one of the market leaders in Takaful industry, Takaful Ikhlas Sdn. Bhd. (Takaful IKHLAS). This collaboration aims to enhance their service standards to better serve the customers and ensure a more efficient and effective way in monitoring IKHLAS Panel Approved Repairers.
In collaboration with NAWAM, Takaful IKHLAS will be accessing its panel workshop profiles via NAWAM web portal. NAWAM are firmly confident that such an assessment audit will upgrade the standards of all Takaful IKHLAS Repairers and to attain more competitive and professional levels in the coming future.

MRC - Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) & Apprenticeship Program from May 26 – June 2, 2012
On behalf of Motordata Research Consortium Sdn Bhd (MRC), we would like to inform that MRC Malaysia will be organizing the Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) & Apprenticeship Program from May 26 – June 2, 2012
This program is designed to provide the widest scope and quickest opportunity for participants to be able to carry out vehicle damage assessments to meet the urgent requirements of the Malaysian automotive claims industry. It is aimed to enhance students’ skills to create, assess, and approve accurate repair specifications that would ensure safe repairs, using appropriate and researched repair methods that will meet manufacturers’ requirements. The two day training is then completed with an examination on the third day where successful participants are awarded a Thatcham Associate VDA Certificate which is renewal every three years.
SKM Registration Process via NAWAM
Accreditation of Prior Achievement (PPT) is a method of assessing the candidates to obtain recognition for the skills based on previous performance. The purpose of Accreditation of Prior Achievement (PPT) is to recognize the existing skills of the individual by giving them the opportunity to get the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM).
NAWAM strives to provide assistance to all automotive workshop owners and staff to seek application for all levels of SKM in order to meet the compliance as stipulated by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co operatives & Consumerism (MDTCC) or Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri, Koperasi dan Kepenggunaan (KPDNKK). It is an excellent opportunity to enhance on the skills recognition to secure on the career advancement of your personnel
Latest News!!! Positive breakthrough in the local automotive market
According to reliable sources, the latest unofficial news indicates a long awaited positive breakthrough in the local automotive market amongst FAWOAM, PIAM, MRC and AMLA.
The above parties have agreed on the key points outlined as follows:
• MRC has been tasked to look into lump sum settlement of e-claims system which has long been disallowed in the market and to take action into the amendment of claims system software providers to ensure on fair & transparent claims processing in the industry. MRC is expected to complete the above with due urgency and priority
• Claims labour rate of RM30 per hour has been agreed and accepted which includes the application of Thatcham Times system

Automotive Workshop Modernisation or A.T.O.M. is in line with the Malaysia Economic Transformation Program (ETP) vision of a high income nation by 2020. A.T.O.M. program is part of a program tailored for the Malaysia Automotive Industry. Members & Non-members of NAWAM are free to download the enclosed presentation slides on the A.T.O.M. selection criteria.
